I would like to join socionet, but was unable to complete the process on line.

I was the founder of a Sociocracy Study Group, after 8 sessions with a paid coach, I became the coach for the group. I than was hired by Katywil Eco Village as their teacher/coach. I have developed a number of materials based on 'We the People..."

I only use the term 'Sociocracy' when telling people that I have learned of and studied an excellent decision-making and organizing tool that originated in the Netherlands. I have never had a negative reaction. John Buck tells me that I am the only person he knows who has this experience.

I am deeply troubled by the various terms that have been developed to replace the term 'sociocracy.' It has a venerable, verifiable, history worthy of knowing in order to better understand how and why it was developed and modified over time.

Like you, Sharon, I am drawn to bring sociocracy to the socios and set aside the notion that sociocracy can only be 'taught' by those who are certified. Just as in any profession, you can do the training, even get the certificate and still not necessarily be skilled in sharing, teaching or coaching sociocracy to those who might be interested.

I would like to share the materials I have developed with the goal of receiving feed back: what might be missing that is essential, what is not quite accurate, etc.

Many thanks for having taken the time to read thus far. I look forward to being able to join Socionet as a professional member and also the possibility of being able to share the materials I have developed.

With all good wishes,

Sharon Villines guided me to go to Eburon. Their direct web site address is: http://www.eburon.nl/.

My experience was a very good one. On June 6 I ordered a Gerard Endenburg's book. Payment made through PayPal was very easy. Shipping costs were $21.56, and the book arrived on June 24.

Thanks sharon! I know that it was largely your on-line writings and the socionet listserv/ group that led me to discover sociocracy/dynamic governance. And I imagine that is true for many of those 55,000 links! I just wish there was a term in american english which did not sound like "socialism" to people. By the way, I like the tag cloud. It is a little annoying that you have to chase the terms with your mouse to click them, but once I got used to it, it just seems like a video game ;)
