About SocioNet

SocioNet is a network for Sociocracy.  The vision of sociocracy is a society in which all members are equivalent in their ability to consent to the conditions that govern their lives.  Its mission is to create programs and resources that will increase public awareness of the principles and methods of sociocratic governance and develop the ability of individuals and organizations to implement them.

SocioNet is affiliated with the world wide initiative to develop a network of sociocratic communities and workplaces that grew out of the Sociocratisch Centrum in The Netherlands.  A nonprofit organization incorporated in 2009 in Washington DC for charitable and educational purposes currently seeking 501(c)3 approval in order to accept tax deductible contributions.

SocioNet was incorporated under the name Center for Sociocratic Governance.  ”Center” was found to be in conflict with the names of other centers in Europe, where “center” refers to professional associations.  Since this United States organization focuses on public awareness and education, the organization was renamed SocioNet, Inc. and primarily distributes information via the website at socionet.us.

The members of the Board of the Center for Sociocratic Governance are John Buck, Sharon Villines, Greg Rouillard, and Monika Megyesi.  The SocioNet website is currently managed by Scott Krabler, Technical Director, and Greg Pettengill, General Manager.

We began our initial membership drive at the conference in the Yukon in June 2010, The River Flows Both Ways.  We encourage you to join SocioNet and contribute financially at the highest level possible in order to ensure that we have the resources to continue promoting sociocratic governance.  Please, Join Socionet!

Thank you!
